hello i have a 3000 gt and i have never lost to an older modle eclipse and i have raced many of them. I do not have a vr4 eather It is stock with 222hp and i run at the bristol motor speed way in the quarter of a mile and love to race eclipse's because i can beat them. The eclipse that has done really good up there is the gts eclipse I have only raced him once & won but He had a bad run so i am not sure about the eclipse gts.

any turbo will beat a nt 3kgt, but I've never seen a turbo dsm go up against a vr4. It could be close if the 3kgt had stock turbos and the dsm was modded.

another aspect you might want to take in consideration is how the VR-4 loses 35% of it's power from the crank to the wheels. In my opinoin, the 3kgt handles very well, but power loss should be taken in consideration. So It really does matter whether you race a GSX or GST

And the surplus of stories would most likely be attributed to the fact that a newer 3kgt vr-4 will still run you around $20 - 25,000 which puts them a bit far beyond reach for most young folk. Eclipse is cheaper, thus more in number.

meh rub it in lol....i had to pay 15,8 for my 99 SL...ive never really seen or heard any races between the 3k and a gst.. but one of my friends has a 97 gst, and i can definately say that its a hell of alot faster than my car...

Beat a GST on the freeway in my 96 3000GT SL. Puts out about 240 HP at the moment.

Not necessarily...Thing is FWD just like I am. Now, if he launched, that would be a different story. But taking off from an idle he'd need his stock turbo to spool to get his massive power, whereas I'm all motor.

Or so I have been told. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
