the most powerful civic ever produced has 197hp to the crank...you shouldnt have to much trouble beating the average civic.

but watch out for the sneaky ones! me and some friends were at the track last night for their test & tune, there was a 91 Civic DX there.....body completely stock and falling apart, but had some sort of motor swap and a t3/t4 set up. I don't know how much boost he was running, but he ran a 13.3 and simply raped the Mustang in the other lane.

13.3 sound like a single cam non vtech with a turbo on it or something... 13.3 seems so slow for a t3 t4 powered car with a decent motor. Unless I am so far from remembering what a 13 sec car is like lol since I havent driven my Evo in ike 9 months lol

you really cant tell as far as civic goes because their advantage is that it's really easy to swap out an engine from another honda. In other words the civic may appear to be stock, but most likely has a b-series in it. being as though that's the most common swap. Stock civics come with a single cam d-15, d-16. Some v-tec, and some not, depending on the model. They are dirt slow, if it's stock. The newer models came with b-16, with are dohc v-tec. For the most part, racing a regular civic on the street shouldn't be so much of a threat, but their are a few civics out their, that with simple swaps can be very effective. So choose your battles wisely.

Ask if you have anymore questions.

good L

Like everyone else said, it is hard to tell because alot of people swap the motors out. The Civic SI (DOHC V-Tec) is hondas best stock motor for civics, which is not hard to beat. I used to own a Integra and the problem with V-tec is that it only increases the HP and does basicially nothing for the torque. My cousin builds civics (hatchbacks) and he has built some pretty quick ones. Some people really know how to push them. The hondas he builds, he shifts at 10k everytime. It is the loudest thing you will ever hear. The police definently know when he is coming! but overall Civics with basics mods are not a threat.
