Default 2007 Outlander - Damaged Air Vent?

I got my Outlander used, and I already know on the driver side that it needs a new splash shield/guard, as discussed in this thread:

However, I'm pretty sure there's another piece missing, or something wrong. See these pictures...

The silver heat sink is the Automatic Transmission fluid cooler, if I understand right. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't just be hanging there.

I understand if this is an air vent to bring air to the cooler... but shouldn't there be some sort of grating in front? Keep bugs or snow or something out? I haven't been able to see what a "good" one of these vents looks like, so I'm not sure what mine is missing.

No, the transmission cooler definitely shouldn't just be dangling there, I'd zap-strap it to something to prevent it banging around.

There's no grill in front of the oil-cooler, but there is a duct/cowl. You should have a section of engine room splash guard below it that connects to the splash guard in the wheel well (which you are missing half of).

I've attached some diagrams.
