Default Bluetooth module activation

What does the bluetooth module activation actually do? I just installed a bluetooth module and it worked.....I didn't need to activate anything.

Hi, Can I ask you how did you do it? Becouse I´m trying to install it on my Lancer 08, but I have a few doubts about the connection. I saw that the steering column is pre-wired for something, but I don´t know if that connector is for the buttons of the hands-free module or the paddle shift.

Thanks!

As I understand it, it is just a toggle to let the ecu know it is there - as per these mut-3 instructions:
http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/SU...ander_pg11.pdf

From 2008 onwards that was pre-set to on, but before then for stability reasons had to be turned off if the btm was not present. So I read somewhere.

I have the opposite problem in that my module is installed, and I'm guessing has never been activated. I'm hoping getting it activated will be enough to make it work.

Fantistic video. This is another great example of what makes the internet such a tremendous resource for automotive DIY novices who don't want to get hosed at stealerships.

That's the video I followed to install mine. I did it right in the dealer parking lot. Mine worked right out of the box. I didn't have to program anything. Still works great.

I looked at the owners manual and found some info on pairing my phone. Never had trouble with my Kia but Mitsubishi seems more complex. I pressed the talk button, said 'pairing' and a VW BT FO51 appears in my phone, I click that assuming it's my car but it just turns and turns, doesn't seem to want to connect. Has anyone else figured out how to pair your phone??
TXS, Paula
P.S. also a 2008 Lancer 😊
