Has anyone changed this out? I can not find a manual for this and want to know where to start. Uner the hood or under the dash?

First link was the thread I recently made.

Jack up the car, remove tire, remove fender liner.

You don't need to remove the tire. Just turn in all the way to the right so you have room. I have big arms and was able to get in there just fine. Otherwise, that's it.

any ideas of a national parts store who would carry an aftermarket antenna mast for a 2002 montero sport. The dealer here has one for $70, but that seems awfully high for just the mast. The motor works perfectly and I don't want to go through the work of removing it if I can find a replacement mast.

You were a little vague the first time posting, esp on your title.

I hate how the Montero is regularly confused with the Montero Sport. We really need separate forums, but the community itself is dead to even warrant one.

I don't have any experience with the "SPORT"

Did you just pull the antenna and the mast out as the antenna came up? Did it just come up with ease? It maybe different on the sport, because on the regular montero it doesnt come out at least with mine no matter how hard you pull as it comes out. I already removed the broken piece from INSIDE the power antenna assembly.

If you ever get the mast, I would recommend removing the broken piece thats inside the power antenna assembly.

Ebay sells just the mast for cheap if you don't want to go through the dealer
