I bought a 1992 white Eclipse 2.0 GS automatic; wish it was a stick. It’s in really good shape for $500.00 “116,000” miles, that’s all I paid for it I am going to use it for a work car. There is a small exhaust leak which does not bother me. The water pump went out big time’ it's bearings failed and now I have to change the pump. I am having a mechanic do it at a cost of $220.00 labor.

It has been completely fixed! The engine is now very quiet and runs like new! I had the water pump, timing belt, and belt tensioner changed. The annoying noise coming from the engine was the belt tensioner. It was not keeping tension on the timing belt and made the car slightly out of time, as well. The car had its original timing belt on it at 117,000 miles. The mechanic inspected it, as I did, and it was in great shape for that many miles; considering, it was not changed at it's 60,000 mile due date.
