Default burning oil, @#$&

The other i was in the drive thru and noticed blue-ish smoke coming out my tailpipe just after some hard acceleration. A few days later my friend was following me and said he also saw blue smoke come out when i took off. I figured this was my car burning oil but if it isnt what is it and how expensive would it be to fix this? My 91 talon only has 71k on it so even though its old all the parts aren't too worn.

Depending what the problem is.

First, do a compression test and get back to us with some numbers

Some other guy who worked on dsm's a lot said the valve stem seals were most likely the problem. If so how difficult is this to fix if you want to do it yourself? As for you Racer im from Madison, Wisconsin, yourself?

im thinkin you gotta pull the head to do valve seals because you cant get a spring compressor in there.
pullin the head is the safest way anyway. im from ohio, i seen a car the other day that looks like your avatar thats why i was wondering.
