IS THIS CAR EVEN WORTH IT?
92 ECLIPSE WITH WITH PROBLEM BUT CAN'T REALLY PUT FOOT ON IT. I TURN THE KEY TO START IT WELL IT TURNS AND STARTS BUT IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF AND IT MAKES A HEAVILY GRINDING NOISE. BY THE WAY ITS AUTOMATIC AND A PAIN CAUSE THERE TWO PEDALS INSTEAD OF THREE. I BOUGHT A CV JOINT TO REPLACE ONE CAUSE I TORE THE BOOT SO I BOUGHT A USED ONE THAT WAS RUSTED TO SAVE A FEW DOLLARS. THATS WHAT I GET FOR MY MONEY. NEED HELP WITH DECISIONS. SHOULD I JUNK IT? FIX IT? BURN IT? ECLIPSE HANDLER NEEDS HELP!!!!
FIRST STOP POSTING IN CAPS, we can all read small letters just as well. Sounds like you got a pretty cool problem. Deffenitly sounds like an internal mechnical problem, if you dont have the cash to fix it I would say part it out in our f/s section and sell whats left to a junk yard.
I assume when you say that it's 2 pedals instead of 3, that means that all you have ever driven is manual transmissions, because ALL automatics have 2 pedals.
Is the CEL on? Any mods done to the car? Stock engine? Could the grinding possibly be a belt? I dunno...I'm shooting in the dark here

Depends where the sound comes from how loud and wnat it doesn. What shape is the car in overall (Other than mechanically) and whether you really feel like putting the $ into it or not.
