Default clutch?

Hey, I have a 92 Talon and when I try to start it seems as if I don't have the clutch down, it justclicks once and nothing else. I have to press the clutch all the way down as hard as I can to get it to start. Today I tryed to start it and when it clicked the car lost total power as if there was no battery, I had to take both the possitive and negative wires off and put them back on for power to return to the car. Then I tryed to start it after that and the same thing happened, so I did the same thing and it finally started. Does anyone know what that could be? at first I thought it was the starter, then the clutch, now I just have no idea since that power thing happened. Thanks for any help.

Update, I just went to the store and when I left, I tried to start it and it sounded like it wanted to start, but it never fired, it did that twice then finaly started. then on my way home, every time I would tap the brakes or turn my brights on, the radio would cut off and then back on, it did that every time. Also when I turned the brights on, the car kinda lost power for a half second and when back to driving normal. When I got home I turned the car off and opened the door and my car lost power as if the battery wasn't connected again. The radio also turned on and off about twice without me tuching anything, but I think it was when the fan kicked on. Could this be an altinator problem or what? Thanks.

It does sound like the alternator's giving you issues. Wouldn't hurt to do a check on it.

Good idea. It sounds like a charging/connection issue.

I had the altinator checked and it checked out ok, I changed out the terminals and that seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the help, and if it messes up again, then I'll post again. One more question off subject, in order to change the reverse lights, do you have to take the whole middle tail light section out?

I'm back with yet another update. My car seemed to have been doing just fine, every once in a while not starting when hot, but now I was driving and when it got to running temp. the car started sputtering really really bad, I guess it was sputtering, it was jurking really hard and very fast, and then check engine light came on when it did, then I let off the gas it stalled and wouldn't start. I waited about 10 minutes and it started then drove it for about a minute then it warmed up again and did the same exact thing. It kept on doing that on my way home, it took me 40 minutes to get about 4 miles, talk about annoying. If any one could help with this, that would be great. Thanks.

the reverse lights are on either side of your lisence plate. seems like maybe the plugs or wires should be replaced.

Or check your fuses. My reverse lights stopped working not to long ago and it was the fuse blown. the fuse for the reverslights is located in the fuse box under the dash

Thanks, I checked the fuse and it was just fine, I'm gonna replace the bulbs and see what that does, they don't look bad, but you never know.
