Port and polishing is something only a shop can do. Basically what it is is they take your head and intake and smooth the surfaces out. Anything leftover from maufacturing and any texturing becomes smooth. Basically the difference between a cast metal look/feel and a smooth look and feel. Esentially it removes anything that would impede the airflow and the fuel flow into the cylinder and the exhaust flow out of the cylinder. Thereby giving you more power. Also might think about going with bigger valves since you'll be getting the head job done and a more aggressive cam set. BUT DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! Find out which cams work best with what OTHER gear. Now this you have to think about in 2 ways as well. You can look up gear that works great with your current setup OR if you're planning on doing more mods in the very near future look into what will work well with what you PLAN on getting. If you do this the second way then make sure you're not going to change your mind later down the line. Then your power graphs will change depending on how the different equipment reacts with what you've changed.. Get where I'm going with this?

is buying a 2.3L stroker kit worth it or just buy new pistons because the cylinder wall has no damage done to it.

well I know for the EVO they range from $2300-$6000 depends on the brand pistons and rods. remember these kits come with rods and a crank so they are more expensive than buying just pistons.

will a 6-bolt motor fit my car? and if so, should i go and buy a block, buy the stroker kit and get a ported head? or is there a better route to go?
