Default timing

ok, after i put the second head on my car in the last month, it started right up and after a couple seconds it was making a high pitched squeling noise. so i turned my car off and i havent started it up again, because i didnt want to hear that obnixhous noise again. anybody ever heard of anything like that.

i put a new timing belt, belt tensioner, and idler pulley on it also.

When was the last time you replaced the water pump? Also take or rent a mechanic stethoscope and try and pinpoint the noise and let me know. Its hard to over tension a belt with a semi auto tensioner.

Squealing could be anything from the accessory belt not being tight enough to the bearings going in a water pump, power steering pump, or alternator. Get the mech steth and start checking those things.

it shouldn't be the water pump, we just replaced that a month ago, it probably doesnt even have 100 miles on it if he drove it at all

there are no accessory belts that were running, the only belt that was running was the timimg belt. no alternator, no water pump, no a/c, power stearing. im to frustrated, i think i might tow it to the dealer b/c it is all torn apart, all theyll have to do is throw the belt on.
