Default TSi no power and idles rough

I have a 92 TSi. A few weeks ago I noticed after driving the car for a while and turning it off, when I went to restart it the car would idle rough and/or die. It would restart and I would rev it to 3 or 4000 rpm and hold it for 10 sec and let it return to idle then it was fine. It has progressively occured more often. The last couple of days when I would go to full throttle the car would lay down, but part throttle it ran fine. Now it won't clear out with revving it and the power is non-existent. The car is completely stock, boost gauge reads normal boost. I checked all tubing from mass air to throttle body, everything's tight. Checked plugs, cylinders 1 and 4 appear to have a slight fuel smell, 2 and 3 don't have that. I did notice raw fuel smell coming out the exhaust tip. TPS was normal, coil appears to be normal based on resistance testing. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

TIA

I'd say change plugs and wires first. You say you checked the plugs and could smell gas on 2 but did you check them for spark? Also check your throttle body foir carbon buildup.

i had the same problem. check yous isc motor, and your egr valve. do you have a check engine light?
for a temporary fix you can adjust your BISS screw on your throttlebody. just try turning it counterclockwise half a turn to start.

Carefull adjusting that screw. If that's not the true problem then you're not going to be doing anything but prolonging the discovery of what's actually wrong.
