Default Turbos and YOU

Allrighty, so.. I'm looking through this here magazine and it has air induction systems, but says 89-94 eclipse non-turbo... why can't this be used with a turbo as well? I'm about to turbocharge my stock engine and was wondering if I'd be able to keep the air intake or not if I bought one. Another thing... NOS claims you can't use nitrous with turbo'd/supercharged engines... is this true?

an intake used for a NON turbo car conects from the throttle body and runs down near the tire... an intake from a turbo car runs from the turbo inlet away (near or behind the headlight). so if its desighned for NA than it will not fit a turbo car.
and yes with a good tune and a properly built motor you can spray NOS into a boosted car

here are some pics of the difference the white engine bay is turbo the red is non turbo. Notice the upperintercooler pipe runs down it comes off of the intercooler and the intake pipe is behine it.

you can use nitrous with a forced induction engine, but it can get a bit dangerous. as the volume of air increases as the two molecules of oxygen split, compression is increased. forced induction also increases compression. however, both of these things add heat tot he engine, and should you run lean, esepcially with both, it can Really tear up an engine.

as for the intake system, they arent interchangable because they would be different lengths

youre boosting a stock NA engine? have you built the internals up?

no reason do run nitrous with turbo unless your trying to get into the 10's or 9's. By that time you will know enough to know its possible and how to do it without blowing up your motor.

true point ..N2O isnt nessesary untill your high powered and trying to sqeeze a bit more out. An EVO on EVOM hit a 9.77 with N2O another hit 9.9x without it.. it all depends on your setup and your tune weather it will work without hurting the car.
