Default 11mpg gain, and usefull mods

Just an update on progress of fiquring out the car. In an earlier post I said I was getting 17mpg. The airflow ratio meter was pegging lean all the time and left a black steak on the ground when it was started. I switched out the plugs and they were black. Noticed the #1 coil post was corroded bad. Repaced the coil with a MSD unit to make sure it has good fire. Changed the front O2 sensor. At a half tank I was already at the mileage that would need a fill up.
IT GOT 28 MPG ON THE LAST TANK[sm=bounceybounce.gif]
I hear a lot about the narrow band air flow ratio meters being next to useless, but it helped with diagnostics in this case. Since it is wired in with the cars computer, it sees what the car does. In this case, max lean. Other than that, all it does is bounce around and give a light show with a indication that the computer is working to adjust.

My rear O2 sensor is gone in favor of a plug and the wiring isn't even there. Anyone know where the wires should come from in case I feel the need to hook one back in.

congrats on disecting the problem and fixing ti... it's always a good feeling to do that.... fixing my electrical problem was my first problem i ever solved in my eclipse also. when we refer to narrowbands being relatively useless we are talking about in the Turbo'd world... yes it is a good item to have if you are a N/A car, running nitrous, or even just to have one on a turbo'd car to make sure that you aren't leaning out but for the sake of tuning and keeping an eye on it in boost... it is useless.
