X2, same thing was happening to my 99rs. Change the plugs and the plug wires(if their not already new) that should fix the problem. On a side note the only proper/effective way to clean injectors are to take them out of the car and spray cleaner through them backwards. The cleaner that you put in the tank dosent do a whole heck of alot.

Also with the plug and wire change you should check ur fuel filter. It could be clogged, which also makes cars sputter. And sometimes the fuel pump, but usally that won' t let the car start if its the pump.

if when you check/change ur plugs and wires and it helps a little but doesn't quite do the trick, check your distributor coil. i had the same problem with mine. i changed the dist. coil, plugs, and plug wires and it ran like a dream. also for not a lot of money there isn't much you can do. what do you concider "not a lot of money"? b/c relatively speaking 1000 is not a lot of money when it comes to cars, you can get an intake and exhaust for close to 1000 and tha will increase anywhere from 15-30 hp.

Ya i was thinking some where along the line of the distributor to. My sisters 93 Altima had the same problem and that was it. i know an altima isnt a eclipse but hopefully i can get around to it soon because seems to be getting worse. Just the other day i was sitting at a red light and it went out so there i was at by now a green light having people honk at me.. sucks.. might have to take a day off just to get around to it a bit sooner before it gets worse

You can get an short ram intake off ebay for 15 bucks for the 420a and a custom exaust from a shop, 2.5 cayt back, for 300 or so.
