1998 Montero Sport Radio Displays oFF

The battery on my Montero died and when I started it again the radio displayed CODE. After a round of guessing the code it now displays oFF. Does anybody have any suggestions
?

Has anyone gotten a resolution for the radio displaying oFF?
Did the dealer fix......did they say what the problem was?
