alright just got back in. I removed the rest of the a/c lines and the a/c compressor, as well as the front bumper (it will make things easier in the long run). I also removed my safc 2 and mount since I the safc 2. Below are some before and after shots as well as the safc 2 in the custom mount

i actually just shipped it today. I never thought I would sell on ebay but it actually worked. I haven't sold the vent mount if you're interested. ;-) j/k i know you have a 1g. people aren't that interested in dsm stuff anymore. The BC 272's are only up to $153 and the magnus intake manifold is only up to $100. Oh well no reserve gets more views but it kinda sucks for me. Great for them haha. I was also going to move my gauges to the vent area so i can install a roll cage. I know a-pillar pods don't fly with that... anyway i'm rambling. I'll post more pics as I make more progress

This project has been dragging on.... I was able to work on it last night, but only got the driver side axle out, transfercase and downpipe dropped. I also put the new oil pan on the new engine.. Just a note for anyone trying to do this swap.. If you are turboing the engine and have to use a 2g oil pan... you must use the 2.0 oil pickup.. not the 2.4. Also you need the 2.4l dipstick and tube to accurately read the oil level... The engine is ready to come out after i disconnect the heater hoses.
New mods for this engine:
razco aluminum light weight pulleys
Fluidampr harmonic dampener
OBX fuel rail w/ FIC 1000cc injectors
hayabusa coil on plug w/ Dynatek ARC-2
Supertech dual valve springs
JMF 1g race manifold
Ported evo3 exhaust manifold (sold the tubular)
Dsmlink Version 3

probably more new stuff, but thats all i can think of for now.

Thanks man. I appreciate you keeping up with this thread... its been a lot of work and there have been a lot of hiccups. Removing the valve springs is starting to become the bane of my existence. I just ordered the miller special tool so i can do it with the head on. I really don't feel like having to buy a new custom head gasket just to change the valve springs. I'll post more pics as I continue to do more. thanks again man. have a good one

swapped the valve springs and seals on the exhaust side (supertech sent me 2 sets of exhaust seals so now i have to wait on the intake seals). Dual valve springs bent the valve spring compressor studs. haha i guess they are beefier than I thought. Also, got my fluidampr, but they sent me the wrong one. So, now i got to figure out that mess. I have to soak my HRC exhaust manifold spacer and studs in CLR to remove the rust and might soak the turbo's gasket surfaces as well just to ensure a tight seal. There is way too much to do. Swap cams, drop tranny, install dsmlink, move my gauges from a-pillar to center vent, wire in EGT gauge, replace tie rods, order more parts... blah blah.. As soon as I find the camera charger I'll post more pics.
