Default 4G64 SHOC Cam is bad

"I WAS TOLD", that you can take a cam from a Galant (4G64),
and drill and tap the end for the cam sensor and use this cam in a 4G64 SOHC head.
The Galant has a distributor instead of a cam sensor.
Is the cam angle the same? Will the motor time?
My stock cam is shot (loss of oil) and just had the head rebuilt.
I have a spare Galant cam.

Thanks
