what is the best rpm to shift at on a 98 rs?

I haven't seen a dyno graph, but on NA cars most make power to redline. It also depends on what you are talking directly about. Shifting for gas mileage, speed, or simple town driving?

do you have your cars manuel if so it will tell you the best speed and rpm to shift at for best gass milage

Just shift where it feels like you need to. You only need to go up high enough so when you shift into the next gear you don't bog down. It's a pretty simple thing, not trying to say it was a dumb question but it's all up to how you want to drive and how the car takes it. If you just got it you'll get a feel for it pretty quick and know what it can do.

Yep, should become pretty much "automatic" once you get the feel for it.
