just hit 61000 miles on a 98 GSX...believe it!! Iwas trying to put off the service like a dumb *ss noticed the timing belt was about to go so into the shop it goes...
what is getting done...
both belts
belt tensioner
water pump
front and rear differential fluid... what do you recomend??
new brake fluid
clutch fluid... again what is recomended???
oil and coolant were just done..
what else does everyone recomend???

BG Syncroshift according to all the EVO folks. Personally Iwould stick with the Mitsu fluid.

Any synthetic DOT 3-4 fluid. Not mineral.

Actually you covered just about everything. Maybe a spark plug and wire change. That would be NGK Classic plugs, and stock Mitsubishi wires.

Oh, and I want to see some pics of this clean *** GSX : )

 

maybe inspect your belts and hoses for cracks leaks or being warped and brake hose. since your going threw all that.

Yeah I have heard of those fusing to the paint under heat... and removing paint when you take them off.

 

Ya, they are terrible on the paint job.. My brother had one when I was younger and the paint peeled right off under it.. My wife had one on her maxima and you could see the paint starting to go to crap when we traded it in..

 

If you want to protect the paint, put 3M Clear Vinyl over it. That stuff is bad ***

 

i just never have liked car bras. thats why i said to take it off, not for paint lol.

 

You should also replace the fuel and air filters.

 

yeah, do a full tune up, and it should run smooth..
