Default 7-bolt to 6-bolt checklist

Alright so I am finally fulfilling my dream of upgrading from a 7-bolt to 6-bolt crank engine as a graduation present from my entire family. I'm working with a 1996 Eclipse GST 5-speed. I need to know what other parts i will need, or what needs to be changed. I tried the forum search and all i found was basic questions like why change? if i should change? etc...

So my questions are:

what components, outside of the engine itself, will i need to do the full conversion? i.e. transmission parts, changing engine components, etc...

are there any tricks that the service manual might not mention about taking the engine/transmission out (i have a spyder if that matters)?

and finally (i'm starting my persuit for my masters starting this fall) what turbo would be the ideal upgrade for a small budget? 14b? 16g?

thanks a ton

thank you thats perfect...

just a few more questions:

-Does the 6-bolt (1G) engine bolt right up to the 2G bell housing on the tranny?

-Are the throttle bodies for the 6-bolt and 7-bolt the same? Asking to see if there are any modifications that are needed to the 6-bolt throttle body to match up with the 7-bolt intake from the intercooler...

-Do I need a 6-bolt crankshaft position sensor? or can I use the 7-bolt?

-Is the 7-bolt tranny completely compatible with the 6-bolt engine, after getting the 6-bolt flywheel?

Thank you
