About a year ago I got a 96 gsx off of a cousin for cheap. He was driving to work and heard a loud pop, followed by lots of white smoke coming from the tailpipe. He made it to work and parked it, and I came and picked it up with a trailer. The obvious suspect was the head gasket. I performed a compression test and got 175+ on all cylinders. So I’m a bit perplexed how coolant could be getting into the exhaust. One issue I have noticed is that any time it’s ran, there is a strong smell of raw gasoline, and even saw that it left a small puddle of gas on the deck of my trailer after a few minutes of running. Any ideas?
