Ok for starters this whole import thing is new grounds for me so go gentle.
Here is the question. My 97 Talon 2.0 non turbo 5 speed has 231000 miles on it. the engine has been changed once not sure of the milage on it. it leaks oil pretty bad, the mech. said it was from the head gasket. i have run a bottle of CD2 thru it and it slowed it down alot, almost no leakage now. well a few oil changes later now it has began to smoke, after it reaches normal operating temp. it still runs fine, but today i drove it and no smoke at all came from the exhaust. ???? any ideas? when it does the smoking bit it's alot of smoke, reminds me of a Dodge Caravan, if you know what i mean. So where do I need to start looking? Oh and also it wants to run hot going down the interstate but not in town driving, but that is a whole other problem, i think.

 

have you checked to see if your low on coolant. And also what color is the smoke. Its either your burning oil though seals, or you have a bad head gasket. If its the head gasket that really needs to be replaced. I would try and do a compression test on the engine. Here is a little how to on it

Ahh thanks for the link. That saved me some research. as far as the coolant, it is full. And the smoke is whiteish in color.
