98 eclipse problem
hi
people i have a 98 eclipse gs with a 420a stock i found out that i couldnt get it over 100mph it stopped and rpms were steady gas pedal was all the way down to the floor i think the governor or pilot stops it from going over 100. my question is if i put tat piggy back system on the ecm is it going to stop governor from stopping my car at 100mph? if not thatn what should i do and where should i get the parts or whatever i need
any help will be appreciated
thank you

yes there is a governor on the vechicle...
and yes going to an aftermarket engine management unit will alow you to bypass the governor.
the reason behind the governor was the H-Rated tires that were used.
unless you have a good set of Z rated rubbers i wouldnt even bother unless you wanna pop a tire at 100Mph i would say it would suck.
anyways ...your canget i a "speed cut defender" at HKS or Greddy. if my memery server right they both offer it.
do a search on the net and you should find some info on it.
good luck and dont try anything stupid on cheap rubbers.

my solution.....stop trying to drive over 100mph. There is no reason you need to even try it unless your at a track...in which case by the end of the 1/4 mile you still wont have reached 100mph anyway
yea i have a stock GS, and i was out last week on the Interstate, made sure no one was around, and made sure the road was smooth, i got up to 110, b4 i started getting scared
, im not gonna lie, it is pretty scary when the car starts shakin.
