95’ Eclipse Transmission problem

Default 95’ Eclipse Transmission problem



Ihave a 1995 Eclipse it is an automatic, the problem is the Transmission is sticking in 2nd gear. But it just started about 4 days ago, the weird thing is the Speedometer stopped when it started. Can anyone help with this problem, and if so how much am I looking attofix it.</P>

you are probably going to have to have the tranny rebuilt and if that is the case it will be pretty costly, my advice would be for you to take it to your local dealer and they sould be able to tell you after driving it.

Hmm....The transmission problem isn't related to the speedometer I don't think. Speedometer might be the guage cluster going bad or a sensor die. Get the transmission looked at as soon as possible. The worse it gets the more it will cost to get it repaired.<IMG src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0">

It's most likely a TCU problem then. The TCU and ECU work in conjuction on automatic cars, so i you have amalfunctioning TCU, it will limit the ECU in some ways. Such as the speedo not working correctly.

have the output speed sensor check usually it causes the speedometer to stop working and the transmission to act out.
