I just finished partially rebuilding my wife's 1999 Eclipse Spyder GS 2.4 engine.(thrown rod 5 years ago) The exhaust is pretty rusted and leaking. Unfortunately, it has California Emissions (We live in Virginia so it's not necessary and we don't have emissions testing in this county). My question is, can I replace the entire California exhaust system with a Federal one? The parts for this car are nearly impossible to find unless I get OEM parts which would cost about a grand to rebuild the entire Calif. emissions exhaust. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I already have a new Cat.
