You'd need a scan tool that can tap into the ABS computer. General or even OBDII scan tools won't be able to do that. Perhaps a Snap On scanner with ABS cartridge can do it. I'd recommend taking it to the dealer and having them read the code for you. More than likely- whatever code you have is where the problem resides.

I owned a sunbird once and the abs didnt work, but the car didnt go fast enough to really need good brakes![&:]

 

LOL yeah but in VA here it would fail safety inspection for having the light on

if anyone is interested what was wrong with ABS light and brakes !

My mechanic said, that some kind of motor for ABS was rusty and that he had to take "almost whole car apart" to get there and clean that part. It's fine now, ABS work. light is off. It costed me 200$

Well goot to hear that it's fixed. Though I don't know of ANY part of the brake system you have to take the whole car apart to get to LOL.
