Default Adjustable cam gears

Tried seaching for info with no luck, so if anyone has any info on the adjustable cam gears it would be greatly appreciated. Just got a 97 Eclipse with a 2.0 non turbo with a lot of add ons and looking to figure out what to do with them.
The intake cam was 4deg. retarded I think. The inner mark was to the rear of the car on outer sprocket 4 deg.

Just trying to figure some of the stuff out.
My son(in the pic),died in an accident atwork and now I have the car. Figured I would do some of the stuff I wanted to help him do with the car. I know he wanted to turbo it, but I want to go through everything for now and make sure whats there is doing OK. Just went through a tank of gas and only got 16.5mpg, so I figure it needs some tweeking.

Making the 420a turbo isnt generally a great idea without the better internals. the bottoms ends arent very strong in those.
sorry to hear about your son.. [&:]
retarding the intake cam sometimes helps top end power as long as the exhaust cam is timed right, and you have the flow, for it to scavenge air. sometimes advancing it helps the midrange grunt that they lack already.
16 MPG seems a little low if its a 5 speed.
i honestly think they run better with the cams at 0 where theyre supposed to be.
