Which do you tighten so that you dont have to pull it up so far? Right now it seems like im pulling it into the back seat. The red or blue nut?Name:  handbrake.jpg

mine is the same way.... how are your brakes? i changed my rear pads and bled the brakes and it helped a lot. try that and see what happens.

Lol, I just did this two days ago too. You adjust the red nut.

Ask your self when was the last time the ebrake pads were changed? There are a few reasons whey the ebrake handle one is the cable stretching, another is the pads thinning (wearing down).

Anyway, make sure to adjust it with the handle down.

I've got the brake warning light coming on in drive on my outlander automatic. A bad smell too. Must assume its hand break binding?? How do I adjust this and free it up?
