your better off having it machine before you put the head back on

i have a grumble noise when i semi floor it, but i accelerate like hell, but its' my cold air sucking some air, but i would agree in taking it to get machined before you put it back on.

my friend had a grumble noise from his cold air, but when it stopped he threw a rod on his car.

usually when you pull off a head you get it machined and resurfaced. It is not that expensive. And if you blow a headgasket you never know how well off that surface is going to be now

true... al you really need to do is clean up the surface and bring out the metal... you can do that yourself.

the head doent need repairing. All you have to do is prepare the surface of it. So just get the metal showing with a polishing kit or maybe something a little rougher. Just make sure the surface is fresh.

All right I'm going to make it simple for the understanding here.
Block:
|
|
|

Head:
\
\
\

Now try to put the 2 together and this is what you get:
|\
| \
| \

See how the head isn't touching the block at the bottom agian? (Turn it sideways to look at that drawring) Now yours won't be THAT bad. I exagerated for sake of demonstration. That means you'll have a bad seating surface and a weak point for the head gasket to blow again. So take it in to a machine shop and get the head checked and surfaced ONLY if necessary. ALSO REPLACE THE HEAD BOLTS. They are a Torque To Yield bolt. That means when you torque it down it stretches the threads and gives it a 1 time use.
