Bad Ecm??

RE: Bad Ecm??
I think the part about not being able to swap ECU with the same generation is a load of crap. People swap out there ecu for the 95 version often enough so that proves it. Also i have a 98 and i am using a 95 ecu. Not claiming this for all cars but for these cars you shouldn't have a problem. I had a bad TPS and it woudl cause surges and cause the car to buck back and forth really hard when the car was in 1st gear and ur moving slowly. Check the readings with an ohm meter and notice it fluctuates alot. Drove with it disconnected and i had no problem so i replaced it and problem with the surges gone. Easy test u can try.

RE: Bad Ecm??
Well i decided to take out my ecm today just to have a look...... There stamped on the side was a remanufactured date. My ecm had been rebuilt in 2003. So i put the ecm back in started to trace my wires for any broke or loose connections...... There on the thermostate housing is a ground for the ecm...... It had wiggled itself loose and fallen off. I reatached the ecm ground to the frame and so far everything is back to normal
