Bad IAC?
Ok well i have an idle issue. When i start the car cold, the idle is at 2K (or sometimes looping from 1k-2k). But after it warms up, it idles fine. I did notice while it idle is high or looping while cold, it smokes a bit but goes away the car idles fine. The car drives fine far as i can tell, pulls good for the stock turbo. Is this usually a bad IAC or something else. I did not do a boost leak test due to the fact i just moved and don't have that capability anymore.
By the way, the car is a 97 GST, completely stock. no exhaust or engine work

Actually sounds normal brother. RPMs may be a tad high, but due to the fuel enrichment protocol on a cold start, the ecu is going to ensure the engine is running at a higher RPM to help warm the car up. The coolant temperature sensor is the trigger for the RPM's to come back down. You could probably adjust the fuel solenoid if it bothers you. The fuel solenoid is next to the master cylinder resevoir and has a vacuum line coming from the intake manifold and a line going to the stock fuel pressure regulator. There is a **** that you can use to adjust how much fuel is being dumped on a cold start-up. Hope that helps man.
