Battery Trouble!
Hey guys/gals! Sunday I was driving around town and noticed a strange, disgusting smell coming from my car. Didn't think anything of it untill I got home and walked by the passenger side of my car. I popped the hood and my battery was boiling acid!!! Does anyone have any cluse what could cause this? My father-in-law says it may be a voltage problem. Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so what did you have to do to fix it? Thanks for any and all help.
wow that sounds like trouble...i wouldnt even mess with that, just replace the battery...sounds like the seals just went bad in it and caused the acid to leak....make sure that **** doesnt eat through ur clothes!
Thanks GReddy, I am gonna call the stealership today and see what they think. Hopefully all I will need is a new battery, but I don't want to pay for another diagnostic check fr them to tell me that! [:@]
Ok, just in case this happenes to anyone else....it was my voltage regulator in the alternator. Took about an hour and I had the old alternator out and the new one in. No more boil overs from the battery!
