beating mustangs?
You should launch at 4000+ rpms, and I would shift at about 5500. Be carefull though, if your motor has a lot of miles don't wait to long to shift... But you don't want to short shift it, otherwise your gonna lose car lengths after each shift...
yea you should be able to launch at around 5000rpm. When you launch you have to burn up the clutch a bit though and not just dump it, otherwise the car will just bog right down. and for shifting i think the red line was 6500 so i would say 6000 for a shift.
well i personally think it has alot to do with what year mustang,as well as what year gsx,the running condition of both of them along with driving skills.more than likely you will take him,but in racing ANYTHING IS CAPABLE OF HAPPENING.also what do you mean its raining the awd will serve its purpose?i hope that you dont think that awd is your saving grace to go out and drive like it was dry out, cause thats not how it works.yes the characteristics of awd will make it a better performer in the rain vs. FWD AND RWD,but just dont think you can do what you want to without any drawbacks.

yea i couldn't remember exactly what the redline was. I guess its all on how you feel comfortable driving and shifting, for example tim (the evo MR kid) like to shift it and hit the rev limiter every time, or is that just that he's a bad driver. IDK

Ive seen people redline there car all the time and nothing happens... But Ive also seen people blow there motors after doing it a few times... Like I mentioned before.. I wouldnt redline it since its an older motor and prolly has higher milage... Winning 1 race isnt worth buying a new motor...
