blown moter

well i took the head off my 95 gsx because it had a blown head gasket and a burnt valve and then when i put it back together it ran fine for like three days then on the way home from work it cought on fire but i got it out befor it did any major damage but i got it towed home and try to get it started agin when it started poping out of the intake so i stop and tried to figure out what was going on and found nothing wrong. so i tried to start it agin and got it to start but had to hold it above 3000 or it would die but my budie daid that it was sucking air throught the exaust and blowing smoke out of the intake dont have any idea what happened to it hopeing somebody can help me figure it out or if any body has a good six bolt for cheap i could just go that way but if anybody cane help i would be greatfull

Your motor wouldnt run like that, and i doubt its blown up unless it threw a rod and the oil flying is where the fire came from.You better find the cause of the fire, and repair any wiring damage, and any melted sensorsfirst. Check your timing belt out to make sure its still in time, then try again. [8D]

And now to be nice.
The very first thing you should have done was to figure out the source of the fire. Many things are ignitable. Brake fluid happens to be one of them. You could have broken or damageda wire when changing the head gasket that caught metal and sparked.
Thats the practical step before you assume the motor is shot.
You dont want to go and spend a few grand on an engine, onl to put it in and have the same problem b/c you missed a sensor that got melted from the fire.
And also, how many miles had you put on it in the 3 days after the fix?
