ok here is an update. i noticed that the boost does drop in all gears but only when you reach high rpms. after you reach probably about 5000 the boost starts to drop. has anyone had this problem before and why does it only drop at higher rpms.

Thats normal, its cuz the stock BOV is a POS

Maybe its got a crack in it... The stock one does suck... but Ive never just 'lost' boost even when I had my stock bov.

IMO, get your boost leak check out of the way. A boost leak may not present itself until higher pressures are introduced anyway.
Since you'll be in the area, check your turbo shaft for play and look at the wheel.

Just get the boost leak test done with, it's not that hard. Every turbo car owner NEEDS a boost leak tester and every turbo car owner should do BLTs as a preventitive maintenance type thing. That's just me though. I've already lent my BLT to MANY people who found leaks and didn't even know it.

mmmm Bacon, lettuce, and Tomato (BLT) haha.

I agree, a boost leak test is a good idea, but my money is on that bov if its leaking at high rpms and at full boost

if it is bad, that'll give you an excuse to upgrade to hard piping and an RS bov. at least you have the money to do it, i still only have 200 for my exhaust saved up.
