Default clutch

i just bought a eclipse 99 gst and also learned how to drive a stick last week. i just noticed the clutch a lot softer when im cruising for 10 miles in 5th gear. when i try to clutch in that time the clutch is too soft. sometimes i cannot even go to neutral. i still need to struggle for awhile to get my clutch again so i can change gears.

if it was master/slave cylinder I would think it would do it anytime not just on the highway. If it does do it all the time though, check your clutch fluid resevoir, make sure its not losing fluid. pull back your floormat and look at where the clutch pedal goes through the firewall, check to see if theres any wet fluids there too. lastly, you could try bleeding the line, maybe you have an air bubble and its taking extra pump up to depress the clutch fully
