You're talking about an engine rebuild... If nothing else it'll be AT LEAST a full bottom end rebuild...

which will not always cure it 100% from what I understand. I think the only true cure is the 6 bolt swaps or the sonata swaps

If what I read is right the crankwalk is a problem with either misaligned or badly seated crank bearings... So if those are replaced shouldn't they be seated right the 2nd time around? Which theoretically SHOULD fix the problem right?

no the problem is with oiling the squirters and there location that cause the crank to walk. At least that is the way I always heard it.

Might be something to look into then... I always heard it was the journal bearings on the crank being misaligned thus allowing it to move... I also heard that it was only the Detroit made engines that had teh problem. Thus the reason all 7 bolts are susceptible to the crankwalk but some will never suffer from it... I had always read it was a factory problem
