Okay i take back my last post. I took out the spark plugs and shinded my handy dandy flash light down in there and i could not see any wear on the head at all were they may have been hitting a valve or somethign like that but i did notice that the top of the piston heads looked like they had dirt yon them, but i figure its probably just carbon from the plugs and stuff like that. So...

-Its not crankwalk
-Its not pistons hitting the head
-Its not lifter tick

Possiblitys im left with

-Tensioner chain slapping the engine
-I lost a lifter all together
-Poor timing
-Spun bearing that as not started to develope into crank walk yet


Another other ideas?

 

take the oil pan off and see if it has spun a bearing.

 

would there just be a vearing chillin there or would it be shreded metal in there

 

well here is what i found after driving on it for 15 minutes.
edit: it will all depend on how long you drove on it.

 

wow. well as soon as the sound start i shut off the engine and left the car. and iv started it to listed to it a few times but never ran it for more than 3 seconds literally. except for the other a guy came over to llok at it and we let it idle for about thirty ( seconds )

 

well drain the oil and feel it for metal shavings. if not see if you can take te pan off and look in it and also try and wiggle the bottom of the rods.

 

ive had a pretty loud rod knock without it being a spun bearing before, and barely any metal shavings

is that bottom bearing a balance shaft bearing?? my BS bearing came out and is folded exactly like that one is

here the rear BS bearing from mine, it made a hell of a knock / rattle when i turned the engine over ( i never heard this one run)

the loss of oil pressure after that bearings takes a fly will cause a rod bearing to spin

 

all i know is that it was a thin piece of metal that shouldn't have been in the oil pan

 

Okay well ill drop the pan later but if it is a spun bearing how hard is it going to replace providing it is salvagable

Also how hard is dropping the pan on a gst becausse i herd in a gsx its easier and on the gst the subframe is different and makes it harder
