can i not do a 4g63t swap in my rs.... i wasnt really paying attention to the type i was just looking for an engine on ebay that would fit into any 95-99 eclipse... is that not the case?? and if it isnt what engine could i get besides the evo engine cause that was to expensive and sounded like i had to mod a few things. i just want to get an egine that has a turbo and will fit in my rs with relatively few or no mods...

 

no you can only do the evo 8 swap because the evo engines are backwards from the 1/2g's engines (4g63t) in the eclipse's. the 420a's and the evo's have the engines facing the same way with the timing belts on the left side of the engine bay.

 

ok so a 420a motor will fit also you say?? so i shoulkd look for that??

go for the stock 420a ECLIPSE engine and save yourself a headache.... ill suggest you doing engine swaps (meaning an engine that did not come with the car) after you get to know it better and know why
