i hav a 98' GSX and in some of the gears if i get on the throttle and the rpm's go to about 4000 or 5000 the rpms will then jump and rev up and then down what can cause this?

is it an automatic? How extreme is it reving up to and then down? Is the car loosing all the power to the wheels when it rev's up?

i am also curious as to what tranny you have..it sounds, from that description like the tranny is slipping

what if the car jerks?? cause that happened to my car, jerked @ 2nd gear. am' thinking fuel cut.

what could happen is if it jerking in higher rpms it may be the cam pos sensor.

are you losing power to anything? sounds like either an ignition short or some kind of tranny slipping. fuel cut can be ruled out becuase rpms wouldnt go up or down for that, you would just feel jerks.

well it jrks @ 2nd gear, high rpm....but goes smooth @ 3rd all the way to 5th...think its a slippage?? am' starting to worry, this thing is been goin on for wk.
