precat? as in a cat before a cat?

 

So when I installed catback, The precat is removed? If it's remove is this bad if I need to go for emmission test?

So can that be the problem with my car?

 

See this is where I fail on these cars. My car has a precat directly off the turbo then it goes to the cat then muffler. I'm not sure if the Eclipse kept this idea or not. If you installed a catback exhaust then it should START after the cat not before. A full exhaust startes at the turbo (Or exhaust manifold for N/A applications). The CEL being on for a secondary air reason MAY cause a failure in an emissions test. I'm not sure though in VA we don't have emissions just safety.

 

What should I do to make CEL go bye bye? Emmission is coming in 3 months. I hate Baltimore. God damn emmission every 2 years. I bought my ECM from ebay and it works great and the guy told me to go to dealer while the ECM installed in the car to get it reset or reflash ( I forgot which one he said ) That is the time when the CEL came on. When I put used ECM in my baby.

 

Somehow I have the feeling, it's my fuel pump because it feels like the fuel being push down when the car coming down from a bump.

And you can call a dealer about it but I doubt reflashing the ECU, ECM, whatever will help. The only time that is required is for security systems. There are some cars out there that the PCM, ECU, Key, and security all have the same code. If one code differs the car doesn't start. Obviously that's not the case here so reflash is unnecessary.

 

Well like when you go on a bump really quick and come down from it... The car shakes bad and that's the time the fuel feels like not getting up from the tank to fuel pump

first off do you know what code you are getting from the CEL. If not then thats the first thing to get. Go to autozone and they can read it for you. Then you can see what is wrong.

 

Go get the vehicle scanned! That is where I would've started in the first place after checking the obvious grounds and such. If it has anything to do with any type of electrical sensor, wire, etc. then the scanner will spit the code out and you go from there instead of doing all of this guess work and wasting your time and money doing so.

 

The car hasn't been doing bad since I clean the fuel injector.
