EGT Gauge or wideband?
So I have another spot left in my pod and i do plan on doing some sort or turbo upgrade in the future. What would i be better off to put in there? A EGT or just go with a uego wideband for tuning? I know the wideband is more money but i'd rather just buy it now than to get a egt only to find out i need a wideband anyway.....
Heres how it works. The Wideband displays your life a/f ratio right? So that is what is best for tuning... because that is exactly what you are tuning... the fuel mixture.
The EGT is an indicator that something is wrong. Too hot = lean etc... the only problem with that is that it takes a while for the heat to build up so there is a delay. Not the best of indicators.
The wideband will show any problems instantly

well the EGT's of the car will tell you whether you are running rich or lean so yes, you can use an EGT gauge for tuning but it's much better to use a wideband. so the Eugo gets my vote also. you say a turbo upgrade i the future... do you have a boost gauge yet? if not AEM also has a Tru-Boost gague and when those 2 gagues are next to eachother it looks BAD@$$!!
