So do you think I will be able to get the 2G car and swap the 7-bolt to a 6-bolt

I'm really into the 2G but can you tell me what is the main difference in the 1g and 2g, All i've heard is the 6 and 7 bolt. What does that do to improve your engine.
7 bolts were in 93-99 eclipses. it has a known defect with oiling causes the crank to walk and that means the motor is trashed. Up on top we have a thread pinned called alternate swaps for the 2G GST GSX read throught that and there is a good like that eplains it in detail.

the 6Bolt didnt have that problem so 2G guys swap the 6bolt in which was from the 90-92 GSt GSXs

you could, but if you will be able to depends upon your dedication to the sport and car.... also the size of your wallet.

If I owned a 2G I would do it, but that is me. You may never need to worry about it to walk in the first place but if you have the time knowledge and $$ i would do it

How hard is it to do it on your own, would it be better just taking it to a shop, if I do take it to the shop would they have to modify a lot

I am not sure I know the block should drop right in but It would be better to hear it from someone who has done it. Im not sure what it would cost for a shop to do

Do you know of any shops that I can take the car to get this done, or someone that you might recommend

well it is rather involved so you want a good mechanic. It is a motor swap\ mainly just the block but you could do the head and all that fun stuff too. If you have the tools and research it enough you could do it. But you gotta trust yourself to do it and remember it isnt an overnight project
