well, i went to get my clutch ajusted today, and the mechanic got in and was shifting my car, and he said that its not the clutch, he said its the syncroniser and maybe the shift fork, is it going to be eisier to just get a new transmission? i have found one for $300 and it has a garentee. i really need help on this subject. thanks for any help provided.

 

what is happening with it?

 

it has become very hard to shift into 3 and 5th. i took my g/f home and on the way back it was really hard to shift into them gears. no grinding, no sounds, just very hard to shift. and most of the time, no matter how hard i push, it wont engage anyways.

 

so you mean when you put it in gear it wont move?

 

it sounds to me like hes saying it cant get into gear. Which to me would say a tranny issue. Yea its alot eisier to buy a new tranny than to rebuild it

 

maybe a shift cable stretched or something and causing it do that.
