O.k I know that from all the posts about the GS, that the motor is doomed; so, can you help. Recently I have noticed thatin the colder weather the car has problems starting. Today the car cut off while driving. First time this has happen. Well let me know if you can guess whats wrong with my Eclipse.

Is there a check engine light on?

 

Yeah is there a cel, after the car cut off does it start back up? We need more info...

 

Yeah we need more info but i wanted to see if there was a cel first. Find out what that code is to if you can. Possibly might have something to do with it.

 

Yes the check engine light is on. The code is 171 I think, and it said that bank 1 was too lean. Anyway I replaced the O2 sensor and it still lights up.

 

Well I would have checked for vacuum leaks before I replaced the o2 sensor. You could also have a maf thats taking a crap too.

 

i bet its either your MAF sensor being dirty or unplugged or you have a vacuum hose that is leaking.

 

Check the timing too : )

 

I don't think it is the MAF considering it doesn't have one. I was looking up my question on here and I saw that it could be a vacuum leak, so I tested with some carburator cleaner but nothing happen. I am going to replace timing belt as I change the waterpump, so if timingis the problemthat shouldfix it. Thank you guys.

 

oh yea my bad, forgot the 420a's dont have it
