Default High end torque

Hey I was wondering if there was any good way to increase my high end torque without costing me an arma an a leg! I have a 99 Eclispe GS non turbo with a brand new engine and I took it to the track and I did a 9.52 1/8 mile and a 16.9 quarter mile, those were my fastest times! I have really good low end torque but I need some high end torque to make my 1/4 mile faster! I did those times when I was completely stock! I have an Exhasut and Intake and some other minor mods waiting for me back home, any help would be great!

Porting the exaust manifold and the intake manifold wouldnt cost u much at all and would help high end a bit. And u could replace ur catalytic converter with any other metal pipe of same diameter but if ur getting a full exaust system then that wouldnt been necessary.
Hope that helps.

Extrude honing the manifolds and cylinder will also help flow, and so would an exhaust system, but those mods are made to get more hp out of the engine. Getting torque out of the upper end of the rpm range is a bit more tricky. As hp numbers go up, torque numbers tend to go down at some point. The more common way to get more torque out of an NA engine seems to playing with backpressure and intake charges. Butterflies in the intake charge make can speed up or slow down the incoming air as so to maximize the charge velocity, which in most cases will increase torque higher up in the powerband, like Toyota's TVIS sytem. Backpressure is a little more complicated.... What works well down low, sometimes doesn't help up high. It's kind of a guess and test system, and depends a lot on exhaust piping diameter and how high you can rev.
If you don't mind me asking, why do you want more torque higher up in the powerband? By the time you're nearing redline, you're car shuld be moving....right? I'm just playing....don't mind me i'm kinda stupid at times.....

Isn't it true that if you get rid of a lot of backpressure it can fry your valve seals?
