Right, thats were my intake is but it sure as heck isnt getting cold air from there

i was thinking about something like that too, but i wouldnt do it to my own hood. i was thinking of buying another hood, modifying it, and seeing how stupid it looked so i would at least still have mine.

Right, thats were my intake is but it sure as heck isnt getting cold air from there
you could make a port to your intake to gain more air input. but on the other hand if you get the evo hood even though it's more for heat escaping the engine bay, you will be getting more air circulation.

The evo hood is definately a goog place to start. The opening sits right above your exhaust manifold to let the heat escape from there. If you get a VIS one it comes with a screw on piece to keep out the elements in case something pops up as well. If you have a front mount you could always run your intake pipe to the side mount location for cooler air.
