ok im new tho this plus im doin this for my brother he has a 99 GST took it to a dealer and they say that he needs a new engine. now can anybody please give me info or any site on where to get a new engine. cheap or not i dont care rite now i would prefer cheap that will last a very long time.

 

the only place youll find one cheap is a junk yard. Why does he need a new engine. What did they say exactly happened too it. Also check out www.dsmtrader.com Im sure there are alot of people on there selling engines

 

for a fully assembled engine ready to go you can check ebay but they runclose to about 1000-1200

 

go 2 ebay... jdm engines... if u think there 2 much pm n i got a hook up....

 

counter balance shaft is done he says i would b better buying a new engine

 

counter balance shaft. . . not sure exacly what that is but i sounds like something in the block. as long as your crank didn't go hay-wire, your head should still be fine and you would only needa block. somebody correct me if i'm wrong

 

You dont know what a balance shaft is? Probly the typical spun balance shaft bearing, then it starves the rest of the engine for oil once it spits the bearing out. Ive seen it happen to 3 or 4 of them.
