First of all, want to say hi to everyone, I'm not new to this forum, but just never registered as a user. But I do have a lot of questions to ask. Since I want to know more about my eclipse. </p> First question that I want to ask is, how much hp can a 4g63 stock engine handle? I was thinking to put a turbo kit into my 95 Talon ESI. but then i thought it might be better for me to just buy a gst or gsx in the future. so i want to know how much hp can a stock 4g63 engine handle. too many sti and evos around me. and most of them are owned by friends. and im getting total beat down everytime(of course i knew it would happen, sigh)... more infos would help. just hope that the stock 4g63 engine can get me up to 300 hp.

 

your car has a 420A not a 4G63. and the 4G63 can handle 400-500 HP bepending on the year car. the EVO VIIIs have the 4G63 and can handle a little over 500. as for the STi I wouldnt worry about them, the blow up very very easy they have weak motors I almost bought on but that is how I ended up with an EVO instead.

back to your motor it is a 420A which is in all 2G non turbos except thenon turbo spyder which has a 4G64. there is a sticky at the top of the eclipse section called "how to build a track terror 420a" you might want to read

 

sorry about that emonz. i know my car has a 420a motor. i also noticed that its weak and wont be able to handle much power without a complete rebuild. thats why im thinking on switching to a gst or gsx in a couple months. thats why i was just wondering how much hp can i get out of a stock internal 4g63 engine. since im a college student i wont have much money to buy too many expensive stuffs. and can you tell me how i can even up with those evos? like which mod i need after i got the car and etc.. thanks so much for the infos and help

 

go gst / gsx.....( at most part, eclipse turbos can handle over 300 h.p. w/ beefier internals) just get a evo bro.

 

well like i said im a college student. and i only have a part time job which gets me 1500-2000 a month. and i have to pay school loans and stuffs. so hopefully ill be able to save around 1200 per month. my budget is around 6000. so i think evo is too pricey for me, its not that i dont want one. but that would be after i get done with school. thanks.

 

go 1g's/ 2g's then....for 6 g yaw'll find a decent gst / gsx out there.
